Congratulations AFMA winning 2 Gold medals, 2 Silver medals and 1 Bronze medal at the National Jujitsu Championships in March (see under Championships) Also great success at the QLD State Titles Championships winning 2 Gold, 2 Silver and 2 Bronze medals in March. Again fantastic result from our AFMA competitors

In 2024 we will be participating at various National Competitions, like the National Jujitsu Championships and Australian Karate Open and National Championships as well as State level competitions, see under Championships

Our organisation was formed in November 2005 combining fitness with martial arts making learning fun with a modern approach to education and training.

In the Martial Arts sections, we teach Self-Defense training using Jujitsu and Aikido Principals and in Sports Karate we teach traditional Shotokan (JKA).

We welcome new students to our club who will be integrated with our existing members to the sport of Martial Arts. We offer Beginners classes now for children and parents.

For Kid's Martial Arts classes we take students from 4 years of age and encourage parents to train as well. We have generous family discounts as we are a family club with family values (See also Children's Program).

Our Brisbane based club offers currently five locations on the south side in Cannon Hill, Manly West, Mount Gravatt and Norman Park servicing the surrounding suburbs. We offer beginner classes in all of these locations.

We have grown now to be Queensland leading Family Martial Arts club emphasising on the right philosophy and spirit. There is no other club like ours.

Our club is associated with "Ikkukai" Shotokan Karate-Do Japan (WKF), we are a member of the QLD Karate Association (QKA), Australian Karate Federation (AKF) and Australian Jujitsu Federation Inc. (AJF-Inc.), which therefore enables our students to compete on a State/National/International level. This is an important aspect for students who want to compete beyond club level.

Sensei Andy Schwandner is the founder and National Chief Instructor of Australian Fitness and Martial Arts (AFMA). Retired World Karate Official for Kata and Kumite (WKF) and is well known and respected within the QLD Karate State body (QKA) and National Karate Federation (AKF) as well as National Jujitsu Federation (AJF).

In the Fitness Program we offer Boot camp training, Personal Fitness Training as well as strenght and conditioning training. Individualised Programs and Group Fitness Camp Programs to meet your needs.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you would like further information or come for a free trial.
